St. Louis Has A New Professional Basketball Team
The St. Louis Griffins, the newest professional basketball team in The Basketball League (TBL), are ready to launch their inaugural season in 2023. With training camp set to start this weekend, the Griffins are thrilled to announce their official roster and give fans a glimpse of what’s in store for this exciting new team.
The Griffins plan to bring affordable, family-friendly entertainment to St. Louis while creating jobs, increasing community engagement, and bringing back a sense of pride to St. Louis.
“We’re so excited about what the future holds for the Griffins as we prepare for our first season," said Head Coach Nate Griffin. "Our players come from all over the country, but they share one common goal - bringing success and pride back to St. Louis as a premier hub for basketball talent at all levels."
As the only professional basketball league in the region that pays its players, the Griffins are counting on the support of the community to make this season a succsess on and off the court.
Families, community leaders, and basketball enthusiests of all ages will enjoy the brand of basketball that the Griffins are looking to put on the floor. Pressure defense and good guard play are St. Louis staples and the Griffins are load with guys that can both apply pressure as well as handle pressure when it's applied to them.
Just about every player on the roster can score the ball at all three levels but the also love to share the ball. It's going to be interesting to see how it all shapes out but we can expect it to be fun and exiting.
Nate & LaWonda Griffin have been engaging the community and mentoring kids through sports for over 25 years. They're proud to be in a position to extend that outreach to help small, local businesses grow. "As we grow, the plan is to partner with local businessess so they can grow with us," says LaWonda.
The Griffins avocate for their players and fans to shop local as much as possible. They've also create partnership packages that every small business can afford in an effort to help with the marketing and promotion of these small businesses too.
